ASSISTANT ECOLOGIST
We are thrilled to announce a fantastic new opportunity to join our Worcestershire office situated on the beautiful Farncombe Estate near Broadway. Ecology Solutions are seeking a dedicated,proactive and hardworking individual to join our team at an Assistant Ecologist level.

Our ecology team at Farncombe comprises a friendly and knowledgeable group of professional
ecologists of all experience levels and a wide range of specialisms.
Main Job Responsibilities:
• Assist senior members of staff with day-to-day project management.
• Assist with a range of different field surveys including UK Habitat Classification (UKHAB) surveys, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) condition assessments, and various protected species surveys.
• Keep up to date with appropriate guidance and Ecological / Environmental Legislation, including planning processes, species survey guidelines and best practice guidance regarding reporting.
• Contribute to the writing, editing, and formatting of technical reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to company standards and client requirements. This will include Preparing maps and graphics, summarizing ecological survey findings and data analysis results.
Qualifications and Skills:
Necessary:
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in an environmental field.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• A genuine interest in ecology and wildlife conservation.
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident in Excel and other Microsoft packages.
• Full UK driving licence, with access to a vehicle.
Desirable:
• Experience conducting a range of wildlife surveys and good botanical identification.
• Previous use of software such as Kaleidoscope / BTO acoustics, QGIS or similar software packages would be advantageous but full training will be provided.
• Experience in ecological report writing.
• Good knowledge of UK habitats and species.
• Knowledge of best practice survey guidelines and legislation.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIEEM).
